Mitsubishi Top Pick Safety Awards

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has repeatedly recognized Mitsubishi for its outstanding safety features, giving the automaker numerous awards. Both the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and Outlander received Top Safety Pick ratings from the IIHS for their safety features, particularly when equipped with available front crash prevention and special available headlights. After continuing a winning streak, Mitsubishi looks to keep paving the way for automotive safety.

Awards Details

The Top Safety Pick is given to vehicles that have “Good” ratings — the top score — in the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests, as well as “Acceptable” ratings—the second-best — in other areas. The Eclipse Cross and Outlander exceeded expectations, scoring “Good” in multiple crash tests.

Safety Features

Both SUVs share several safety features, including standard Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, and more. Available safety systems such as Blind Spot Warning will alert you to danger if a vehicle is in your blind spot as you change lanes, while a wide-angle rearview camera is ideal for reversing and parallel parking. Auto High Beams and rain-sensing wipers will automatically activate in rain or poor visibility, and Forward Collision Mitigation uses radar and cameras to detect potential collisions and apply the brakes if necessary.
